vday.

So maybe I've never really gotten into Valentines Day.  I haven't really loved it really.  I don't know if it was the $1 heart and "XO" garlands that I picked up in the dollar bins at Target, or the fact that I am a mom who stays home and has a little more time, but this year I got into it.  I was so excited to make the days special for Michael and Finnegan!  I knew I wanted Mike to leave for work with a little surprise since I'm always still in bed when he leaves.  So, in the middle of the night, after I fed Finn, I played cupid and left a trail of hearts to a little note and some Vanilla Chocolate Buttercreams.  Papa's (and Grandma Aardema's) favorite.  Then we both decided we didn't want to go out for dinner, mostly to avoid crowds, so I made us some homemade pizza.  It was SO fun!  Homemade dough and sauce.  And, per Papa's request, homemade garlic cheese bread.  It was all so yum!  And Finn liked it too! (but of course the next day he wouldn't take one bite!  maybe he just does not do leftovers...).  I also surprised Mike with a shave at The Art of Shaving.  He came home with the most beautiful and delicious smelling flowers that he arranged himself and... a MASSAGE!  Oh I cannot wait.  I had fun getting into this holiday.  I feel like if I am focusing on making the day special for my dear ones I love then what could possibly be so horrible about that!

{of course i forgot to take pictures of the flowers and pizza.}
