catalina. 1 year.

April 9 was our anniversary, and even though Europe was in a way our anniversary trip, we still wanted to do a little something to make it special.  We opted for an island getaway.  Catalina Island.  We stayed at the Wrigley mansion (used to own the island, owned the Cubs baseball team, and is the inventor of Wrigley gum) called The Inn on Mt. Ada.  He had his mansion built up on the hill overlooking the harbor and ocean.  We had the best room in the place which had both a harbor and ocean view.  Everything about this stay was perfect.  There are only 6 rooms, so you are known intimately by the hosts.  There are cookies, drinks, nuts, fruit, ice cream, popcorn, etc etc available whenever your heart desires and we were free to help ourselves in the "butler's pantry".  We were also given a golf cart to cruise the island.  There was nothing more breathtaking than falling asleep in Michael's arms to the lights in the harbor and the sweet smell of ocean air.

{lunch on the balcony everyday}
{our room with quite the view}
{oh yeah, we went zip lining.  SO fun!}

{perfect weekend!}
